Q Michael Overend submits a fine photograph of an Avro 504K on which his father had joyrides at The Denes, Great Yarmouth, and suggests the period as 1922-24. He wants more details.
A Originally E3481, G-EADP was registered to Central Aircraft Co, Northolt on August 11, 1919, passing to the Midland Aviation Co in October 1921 and Manchester Aviation Co in March 1923. Its final owner, from March 1924, was the Northern Aviation Co, and it crashed in May that year. In the picture it is marked “Midland Aviation Co, flights from 10/6d” so the picture probably dates from 1922.
